About Lovisa

Lovisa Carlman Bydén creates paintings in acrylic and oil with the theme "The Good Life" – something we all need a little more of in a turbulent world. It is a tribute to presence, enjoyment, and human encounters in a time often characterized by high pace and anxiety. After a period of illness in 2017, Lovisa gained a new and deeper insight into the fragility of life and the importance of enjoying it while we can. Since then, creation has been an important part of her life, where painting has become a way to remind herself – and others – that life is fragile and worth celebrating.

Her art is a tribute to the good life. To the moments when time slows down, glasses are filled, and conversations never end. In her visual world, well-dressed epicureans, gourmands, and chefs gather around set tables in restaurants, cafés, and bars, in sun-drenched settings where joy, love, presence, and community are central.

She is inspired by travels, especially to Italy, by spontaneous photographs from beautiful hotels and restaurants, and by the small but significant everyday moments of enjoyment: eating well, laughing, and socializing. As the epicurean she is, inspiration often begins exactly where she finds herself.
